About the Business Area
Executive Services manages, coordinates and reviews priority correspondence, briefings, parliamentary matters and cabinet submissions. The team also plays a critical role in ensuring that the various Deputy Secretaries and Transport Ministers’ expectations are met regarding these matters both in terms of timeliness and quality.
About the Role
The role of Executive Services Manager reports into the Head of Government Relations you will lead a team of two Executive Services Advisors and two Executive Service Admin Officers.
As the Executive Services Manager you will play a lead role in fostering strong relations with internal and external stakeholders including Chief Executive, Deputy Executive and Executive Directors. Responsible for internal and external communications, you will develop and execute innovative and progressive communication strategies and overlook correspondence, briefings, parliamentary and cabinet items.
As a inspirational and collaborative leader, you will be highly motivated to build a best-practice corporate affairs function that delivers exceptional service outcomes. As a leader in digital marketing, you will oversee the design and implementation of social media solutions that will positively impact on customer experience.
Day to Day Duties
The role of Manager Executive Services involves working with senior executives to lead the improvement of quality/timeliness of correspondence, briefings, parliamentary matters and cabinet items. In addition, following the transition of VicRoads and PTV into the Department of Transport, the role will involve negotiating with key stakeholders across the new department and all associated agencies to ensure work in this space is undertaken collaboratively.
As manager, the role will involve leading motivating and developing the members of the Executive Services team to provide a high level of services to the Ministerial and Deputy Secretaries’ offices.
The role also acts as the cabinet officer, providing advice on cabinet protocols and procedures across the department in addition to liaising and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure timelines and quality are met.
Identification and escalation of emerging political, reputational and operational issues and trends is also a key component of the role.

- gain a detailed understanding of how government functions from top to bottom including portfolio responsibilities, parliamentary procedures and the Minister’s office interactions with the Department and its agencies; and
